SUMMARY
I OBJECT
To promote awareness of the New Roads and Street Works act and its implications with respect to the Water Industry.
II REASONS
The Regulations relating to the New Roads and Streetworks Act come into force between April and October 1992, and businesses will need to prepare for the implications of the Act.
III CONCLUSION
Water Companies need to consider all aspects of the Act to ensure that comply with all their obligations.
IV RECOMMENDATIONS
Water Companies need to ensure that they will comply fully with the Act.
Water Companies should seek further understanding of the Act where this is required. This can be provided by members of the relevant Working Parties.
Good use should be made of regional Highway Authority and Utility Committees (HAUCs) to achieve co-ordination and communication between all parties.
V RESUME OF CONTENTS
The guide summarises the work of all the HAUC working parties associated with the New Roads and Streetworks Act. It also identifies the issues that are associated with the new legislation as they pertain to each working party.
