FWR Forums

The Foundation supports or participates in several Forums that facilitate the interchange of information and define outstanding research needs in specific topic areas. These are summarised below. Select their links to view their latest activities and outputs.
Environmental Economics Following the completion and publication of the Manual on Assessing the Benefits of Surface Water Quality Improvements and support from FWR Members, the Foundation took the initiative for setting up this Forum. It facilitates the co-ordination of research activity on environmental economics for all three sectors - air, land and water - initially in the UK  but eventually at an International level.
Eutrophication To identify research, collate knowledge and disseminate information on eutrophication as relevant to the conditions that can occur in UK waters.
Groundwater A focus for the identification and prioritisation of research issues to ensure that groundwater plays its full part in meeting the needs of society and the environment. This Forum has its own Website and details and a link are provided on the above Groundwater Forum Web page.
Wastewater To provide a means whereby UK operators, regulators and the research community can identify priority research needs across the wastewater sector (including related environmental and public perception issues); stimulate the development of appropriate programmes and disseminate results so as to optimise public domain research effort and maximise the benefits of such research.
